Kalakand : Diwali Special

Firstly , We wish you a very Happy Diwali to all of you. May all of your life lightens up with Happiness, Love, Good Health  and Wealth too.

 Diwali "Festival of Light" is here , so sweets can be far behind . Of course not !. Any happy occasion can't be celebrated without sweets in our country. Be it Durga puja , holi or Diwali. Sweets are Must and what better way it can be to share the joy.

So, we came up with very easy and delicious sweet, popular dessert from Bengal called "Kalakand".
It is soft,crumbled and melts in mouth easily. Somewhat like milk fudge , try out this recipe and do let us know how it turned out.



Ingredients are given below :



INGREDIENTS:
  1. Chenna or paneer (freshly made cottage cheese) - 400gm
  2. Condense Milk -400gm
  3. Milk - 2cup
  4. Cream (optional) -1tsp
  5. Khoya-150gm (optional)
  6. Nutmeg powder : for flavour
  7. Cashew : for garnishing

METHODS:
  1. Crumble the cottage cheese or paneer in a bowl and keep aside.
  2. Add the condense milk, milk and cream in a non stick pan, and stir well.
  3. When it starts to shimmer , add the cottage cheese , khoya (optional) and nutmeg powder .
  4. Cook until the mixture thickens and on medium heat.
  5. When done, take the heat off and pour it into a greased plate.
  6. Add cashew nuts, almonds or any choice of your nuts for garnishing.
  7. Keep it into the fridge for an hour or until sets.
  8. Serve them as cube shapes.
