Papaya Chicken Curry

Hi Friends,
Hope you all are doing fine s. mile emoticon. Today i am sharing a not so spicy recipe with all of you.

The dish is called "Papaya Chicken Curry". I know the name is a bit unusual but i am confident once you make it you will like the taste.

The ingredients are given below :

INGREDIENTS :
  1. Chicken- 1.5 kg
  2. Onions-4(large) made into a fine paste in a mixer
  3. Papaya-1 medium sized grated/made into a fine paste in a mixer
  4. Ginger-2 tsp paste
  5. Garlic- 2 tsp paste
  6. Cardamom-3-4
  7. Cinnamon-1" stick
  8. Cloves-3-4
  9. Bay leaves- 1
  10. Dried Red chilies- 2
  11. Plain beaten Yogurt 4 cups
  12. Salt- as per taste
  13. Black pepper-1 tsp
  14. Turmeric-1 tsp
  15. Red chili powder-1 tsp
  16. Green chilies -2
  17. Refined oil-4 tsp
  18. Ghee-1 tsp.
  19. Garam masala powder-1tsp
FOR MARINATION :

Mix chicken,Yogurt, papaya paste(add 3/4th part of the paste and keep aside 1 part) ,onion paste ginger&garlic paste ,salt ,black pepper, red chili powder, turmeric in a mixing bowl and and allow it to stand for 30 mins. Do not keep the marinade for too long since both papaya and yogurt releases water, it will make the curry too watery and hence will destroy the taste.
METHOD :

1.Heat oil in a pan/kadhai.
2.As the oil becomes hot, add cinnamon, cardamom ,cloves and bay leaves
3. As soon as the cardamoms starts to splatter add the dried red chilies.
4. When all the tempering spices are hot and nice aroma of the spices comes out add the remaining onion paste and fry till golden brown.
5.Now add the marinaded chicken.
6.Mix and cook till chicken is fully cooked.
7. Do not cover and cook .
8.When chicken is fully done ,add 1 tsp of ghee(clarified butter) and garam masala powder.
9.Check seasoning.if you want the dish to be spicy you can add few more tsp of red chili powder as per your taste .

Serve hot with Plain Rice/Roti/Parantha.I think it tastes better with roti/parantha.

Enjoy!! smile emoticon

Thank you
